How easy is it for this system to install?
This is a “do-it-yourself” installation kit, but the ease of installation would depend on your knowledge of your cars ignition and wiring systems. Most people who have installed a car stereo or any other component that requires heavy wiring could install this system. It does include a detailed step-by-step instruction manual explaining how car starters are installed in a vehicle. Most local businesses that install car stereos, car alarms, or electrical equipment can install this starter as well.

Will this starter work on my vehicle?
When it comes to specific vehicles you would need to check with your local car dealer to see if a starter can first be installed in your system. Our remote car starter is designed for use in vehicles equipped with fuel-injection; it will not work on carburetor engines. If your vehicle has an anti-theft system, you will need to purchase a Universal Learning Bypass Module which is available here.

Do you have a list of installers that can install this system for me?
There are generally two or three installers for every state and that list is available through the products technical support department at 800-878-8007. Although we find that anyone with moderate knowledge of vehicle wiring or car stereo installation could easily install this starter; it generally takes 2-3 hours to install the system.

Will your starter only work on automatic transmissions?
The Alert-Pro Deluxe remote car starter will work on automatics, standards, and diesels. When it comes to specific vehicles you would need to check with your local car dealer to see if a starter can first be installed in your system.

What is a Universal By-Pass Module?
The Universal By-Pass tells your antitheft system that it is alright to let the car start because it is not going anywhere.

Do I need a wiring harness to install this kit?
No, you can splice the system directly into your vehicle’s existing wiring.

Can this system be uninstalled if I change vehicles?
Technically this system could be installed in your new vehicle, but you would want to make sure that all the wires in your old vehicle were reconnected correctly.
