The Decorator Wall Switch replaces your current wall switch with an attractive rocker style switch allowing you to control your florescent lighting with your X10 remotes and switches. It works on 120V and can handle up to 20-amps at a maximum of 2,400 watts. Includes both white and ivory rocker plates. UL and CSA approved. Please note that a Controller & Software is needed to use this module. This X10 product is compatible with all X10 devices.

Setting up your X10 system
X10 uses intuitive computer software to program your computer interface control transmitter, or "brain" as we like to call it. Once you decide on what components you want to control (and which switches you want to use to control the components), the software will help you program the "brain". The "brain" will then plug into a wall socket and you can start using the system. Each wireless transmitter will work up to 100 feet* away from the "brain". Just install, program, and use. It is really as simple as that!

*This system does require that all the modules must be plugged into electrical outlets which are all wired to the same breaker box, and connected by the same main electrical circuit. You can also use more then one Interface Control Transmitter to communicate with other modules on a different phase.

Home Automation
Home automation describes devices used to make the electronic products in your home do things automatically. Formerly, this kind of technology was referred to as "The Home of the Future", showcasing houses that automatically made you a cup of coffee or toast in the morning. Most people refer to it now as controlling their daily electronics by remote, timer or sensor.

What is X10
X10 is a technology that utilizes your home's electrical wiring to carry a signal from one device to another. Using simple dials or buttons, you assign each product with one of up to 256 addresses. If you wish two products to turn on and off together, you can set them to the same virtual address, or use seen addresses on many advanced products. All X10 compatible products can be freely mixed and matched. The devices, or modules, can be programmed to turn electrical devices on or off. With an X10 system, you can turn on a radio by pressing a button on a remote from anywhere in your house, or turn off all the lights in your house with one switch. You can also set timers to activate without the need to press any buttons at all. Since you program each module to do a certain task in certain ways the possibilities are endless.

X10 and your Lighting
The most commonly used feature with X10 is mood and lighting control. Your lights can be programmed in many of ways, allowing you to set certain lights on a timer or program a remote to turn on a whole set of lights. For example, if you are upstairs at night and hear a noise, you can press a preprogrammed button and all the lights will turn on simultaneously downstairs. You can also program lights to dim at certain times. Imagine getting up in the middle of the night and turning on a hall light. With the X10 system, you can set that bulb to turn on at 50% power,so you will not be blinded with light. You can even set up a system with motion activated lights which engage for a preprogrammed amount of time when you walk by a sensor.
